The Spanish Association of Pediatrics and Maldita.es join forces to fight disinformation about vaccination

Disinformation about vaccines poses a danger to public health. In addition, hoaxes appeal to fear by providing manipulated figures that do not correspond to reality. Maldita.es has produced a decalogue to avoid and curb the spread of these hoaxes, which can be downloaded from the campaign website.

Vaccines are effective in preventing infectious diseases. Each year, they prevent 2.5 million deaths worldwide, but the growth of disinformation leads to infectious outbreaks in unvaccinated people that could have been prevented. The campaign led by the AEP seeks to encourage vaccination as a healthcare tool, appealing to individual responsibility and curbing the spread of hoaxes to preserve public health.
