Jurists and journalists analyze the effects of disinformation in a round table organized by Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo Abogados and Maldita.es

Next Monday 19 October at 17:00 h, the law firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo together with Maldita.es are organizing a round table under the title "The challenges of disinformation and the need for fact-checking" in which jurists and journalists will debate how disinformation is affecting society and democracy and what the possible legal and journalistic ways to tackle it are and the dangers they may entail.

As legal speakers there will be Encarnación Roca, Vice President of the Constitutional Court; Vicente Conde, former Magistrate of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court and Partner at Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo Abogados; and Rafael F. Montalvo, former Magistrate of the Supreme Court. Partner at Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo Abogados.

On the journalistic side we will be joined by María Rey, First Vice President of the Madrid Press Association; Eduardo Suárez, Director of Communications at the Reuters Institute of Oxford; and Carlos Hernández-Echevarría, Public Policy and Institutional Development Coordinator at Maldita.es.

The round table will be moderated by Alfredo Gómez-Acebo, lawyer and partner at Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo and Clara Jiménez Cruz, CEO and co-founder of Maldita.es.
