Maldita Migración Is launched to fight hoaxes about migration and refuge

On its own platform, migracion.maldita.es, the team will verify potential cases of misinformation reported by the Maldita.es community through its social media channels and WhatsApp number (655 19 85 38), applying verification techniques and following international fact-checking methodology.

Through Maldita Migración, the team will produce debunks based on verified information and confirmed facts. In addition, they will publish contextual pieces to help understand how misinformation affects migrants, and they will create a biweekly newsletter to keep the community informed about the hoaxes that are circulating. You can sign up for the Maldita Migración newsletter here.

This initiative is joined by eldiario.es and the radio program Julia en la Onda on Onda Cero, with the aim of giving greater visibility to the project’s verifications and content.

This project is made possible thanks to the support of Oxfam Intermón. However, without your help in sharing the debunks, it will not be effective. Together, it’s much harder for them to fool us.
