These services will consist of the daily monitoring of possible disinformation affecting the autonomous community of Andalusia through social networks as well as other means of dissemination of disinformation through its team and its technological developments.
In addition, Maldita.es will make its WhatsApp number (+34 644 22 93 19) available to Andalusian citizens in order to identify disinformation circulating on that messaging app thanks to user reports, which is, to date, the only way to locate them. The Junta de Andalucía will promote, as far as possible, the use of this alert service among its citizens.
In no case will this monitoring service necessarily imply the development of a debunk by Maldita.es. The selection of content to be analyzed and investigated will be carried out in accordance with the methodology that governs the work of Maldito Bulo, endorsed by the International Fact-checking Network, in order not to amplify disinformation that is not having an impact. This criterion responds to the methodology of Maldita.es, which is determined by the virality and/or harmfulness of the content. Debunks will be carried out in accordance with the strict methodology developed by Maldita.es, in whose process, in addition to the reporter who carries out the monitoring and investigation, 7 editors are involved, and which can be checked here. Only those that meet the methodology described above will be debunked by Maldita.es.
