Maldita.es joins Oxfam-Intermón, Oxfam Italia and Openpolis to fight disinformation and hate speech with the support of the European Union

This project will be developed over 2 years and will allow Maldita.es to expand the work of Maldita Migración by creating educational materials, games and other tools that will be made available to citizens so that they can make informed decisions.

The work of the journalists and researchers of Openpolis and Maldita.es in this project will investigate the trends of disinformation that affect migrants and refugees, studying their origin, distribution and impact.

The project aims to create a community of more than 15,000 people in Italy and Spain who can actively collaborate in the distribution of verified content to reduce disinformation and hate speech in Europe.

In addition, media literacy workshops and trainings will be carried out for journalists, teachers, local authorities and members of human rights organizations, because at Maldita.es we believe that education is the best tool to fight disinformation.

Oxfam Italia and Oxfam Intermón will carry out, within the framework of this project, campaigns and initiatives to promote fact-checking and combat anti-migrant disinformation.

Maldita Migración  is the Maldita.es project that scrutinizes hoaxes about immigration and refuge, seeking with the tools of fact-checking the truth of data and verified facts.
